What we fund

Research is the core business of the Healing Foundation.

Through research, we aim to contribute significantly to improving the lives of the many hundreds of thousands of people in the UK and globally, who live with disfigurement and visible loss of function. This will be represented not only in better clinical and surgical techniques but also in an improved understanding of the psychological aspects of disfigurement and a contribution to the development of patient support services.

Our current priorities include:

The Healing Foundation Centre at the University of Manchester
The Healing Foundation UK Centres for Burns Research
The Healing Foundation UK Centre for Cleft Research
supported by VTCT
The Healing Foundation Programme of Psychological Research
Research Fellowships and Project Awards

We are committed to the highest standards of excellence and professionalism both in the projects we fund and in the way we select the research that we support.
