There is a real need for burns units to provide a holistic package of care to burns patients. The aim of this project is to study the role and need for an outreach nurse with links in both the hospital and community settings, in improving the continuity of care and support for burn-injured children. It will specifically look at how a nurse can help with the reintegration of a child into a school environment.
