Following independent and international review, Cardiff University, in partnership with the Morriston Hospital, Swansea, has been selected to host the Healing Foundation UK Centre for Burns Research – the UK’s first and only multi-disciplinary research centre of its kind. Recruitment of the Healing Foundation Professor of Burn Injury Study, who will lead this research, will begin in 2007. The prospect is of significantly improved treatment and better long term care for the many thousands of survivors of major burns, worldwide.
